Capitalise and PKF partner to empower accountants and small businesses across South Africa

Capitalise Oct 03, 2022

We’re so excited to announce that we’ve partnered with PKF, one of the largest, most well-known, accounting firms in South Africa. And Xero’s 2022 Partner of the Year.

Partnering with PKF was a no-brainer, with our shared vision to help small businesses gain better transparency and control over business finance and make a meaningful difference. Together, we aim to support thousands of South African businesses to take control of their business finance".

How will our partnership help small businesses?

PKF launched PKF Ignite to offer accounting firms in their network a bespoke cloud accounting solution, as part of their business advisory services. All with the aim to offer on-the-go access to financial data to help advisers and their small businesses keep on top of business finance.

Through partnering with PKF and their large PKF Ignite network, Capitalise will be introducing experienced advisers and their business clients’ to new, collaborative tools.

Nicole Rousseau, Head of PKF Ignite highlights that “a major problem for SME’s is cashflow and obtaining funding in our traditional banking system which does not understand the SA SME landscape. By partnering with Capitalise we believe we will now be able to fill the gap and really provide a practical solution to our clients.”

Accounting firms in the PKF network now have the ability to upload their business clients’ onto the Capitalise ‘Monitor’ platform, segment their portfolio, and monitor their client’s business risks and opportunities. As well as access the carefully selected and curated lending marketplace. All in one place.

The platform pulls out business insights such as cashflow trends, business performance data, overdue payments and opportunities for funding, to give advisers valuable and actionable insights to supercharge  conversations with their clients’.

Paul Surtees, CEO of Capitalise, explains “At Capitalise we believe that every business should be given an equal chance for success. And with the role of an advisor evolving more than ever, they have become an integral part in helping entrepreneurs understand the risk and opportunities in their capital structure whilst providing access to the funding market.

Advisers can fast-track their conversations with accountancy data that gives them a 360 view of their clients’ business performance - to tackle any risks ahead of time and help to put their clients back in the driving seat of their growth.

It’s clear this is a shared vision of PKF and Capitalise. This transparency and control can help the firms in the PKF network offer more informed business advice and build stronger relationships, whilst also accelerating their own firms. As they offer greater advisory services which adds to their firm's value.

Nicole Rousseau, Head of PKF Ignite explains the Ignite service philosophy and how it has always been to add value and not merely offer a compliance service. “Our holistic approach and personal touch is what differentiates us in the market. The goal has always been to be a true trusted advisor and for that we need to be able to solve real-life problems for the business owners” says Nicole Rousseau.

PKF has been leading the way in the accountancy space, whilst continuingly showing innovative and forward-thinking plans for the future. They understand the challenges facing small businesses and continuously look for new ways to solve these.

Nicole Rousseau says by partnering with Capitalise, PKF accounting firms using the platform will be able to be “proactive and identify potential cashflow problems before they occur which is key in our commitment to helping SMEs thrive and grow.”

This personal and future positive approach is why we’re so excited to support their journey. Through our partnership we’ll be able to reach more small businesses and give them better access to financial tools that champion their growth plans today and in the future.

PKF are leading the way in this space. And we hope this partnership can encourage other accounting firms to think about how they can better position themselves in the market. We’re very excited about Capitalise becoming a key part in the PKF offering and look forward to helping them be proactive in the support they provide their clients” says Alex Clark, Head of Revenue in South Africa.

Alex explains further “SMEs and their advisors play a key role in driving the SA economy forward and we're excited to be on this journey with Nicole and the Ignite team."
