Technical Manager in FinTech

We are seeking a Technical Manager to be responsible for our engineering-led projects, APIs and overall operational excellence.

About the role

As a Technical Manager, you will play a key role in our product team with a wide range of
responsibilities. You will report to our Head of Product, Jack Johnson.

You will be responsible for managing our integration partners (lenders and data providers),
working with the Tech Leads to deliver engineering projects and optimise our platform and
customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage engineering roadmaps, align with objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Work closely with and manage backend engineering teams and projects
• Write requirements, documentation and briefs to deliver on the engineer-led projects
• Own platform stability, monitoring and operational excellence
• Oversee integration projects with strategic partners, ensuring seamless API integrations and collaboration.
• Brief UX/UI design teams on improvements to the platform and customer experience which can improve our operation
• Manage and coordinate remote engineering teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Monitor and analyse product performance metrics, using insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Advocate for customers, ensuring their needs and pain points are addressed in product development.

Who you are:

• Seasoned Professional: You have 5+ years working in an engineering/delivery team with some hands on experience on architecture, engineering or DevOps related activities
• An Engineer at Heart: You understand deeply the engineering world and have had (or still have) experience in hands on architecture and programming
• Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring the highest quality standards are met and errors are monitored
• Business Analyst: You can write detailed briefs, documentation and requirements which make engineers happy
• Project Leader: You have held positions of project responsibility, delivering projects and product evolutions
• Building Relationships: Preferably, you worked closely with at least one project involving API integrations with an external strategic partner.
• Customer First: You prioritise the needs and experiences of customers, ensuring our products deliver real value.
• Stakeholder Manager: You can effectively manage internal and external stakeholders, balancing their needs and expectations.
• Remote Team Coordinator: You have experience managing and coordinating remote engineering teams, ensuring effective collaboration.
