Be the bank manager 2.0

#LONGLIVETHEACCOUNTANT

Ollie Maitland Aug 26, 2019

Unbiased, regulated, financially literate and trusted by SMEs - accountants have what it takes to become the Bank Manager 2.0.

We live in exciting times. Our financial ecosystem has the best of breed of financial solutions emerging from a myriad of institutions. With the improvements in lending options to credit facilities, from payments to FX, SMEs have a world of lending products to choose from.

High street banks have closed almost 3,000 branches across the UK.

That’s an estimated 50,000 bank managers that no longer exist in local communities. We interviewed over 1,000 SME business owners in 2018 Capitalise Small Business Survey and found the top three sources of advice were: No-one, friends and family, perhaps more worryingly, the internet. Financial decisions should not be made on the effectiveness of a financial institution’s use of Google.

So, against the backdrop of an increasingly complex financial ecosystem, SMEs are isolated from their usual source of financial guidance and have to make important financial decisions based on limited, poor information. We say, no more.

Discover why accountants are the bank manager 2.0 and learn how Capitalise can support you.

Capitalise implores the accountants of the UK to join in and to seize this opportunity to support business owners in one of the most stressful, anxiety-inducing areas - access to finance.

Armed with financial literacy, governed by regulation and motivated to support and act in clients’ best interest, accountants are uniquely positioned to be the new gatekeeper for the financial needs of their SME clients.
